You've booked your ticket to zanzibar took your yellow fever vaccine and your malaria pills and you are ready for your vacation! Let me walk you through my experince while getting there for our yoga retreat through Egypt. Since there is no self check in's or bag drop off on Ethiopian Airlines and because of the transits so you'll need some patience. While checking in try to play it smart. Ask if the exist seats are occupied, they usually aren't it'll save you some painful backache. At Adis Ababa airport, don't expect too muchit is a very pimitive airport. free wifi is available. There is a small shop that you can get your basic needs and grab a coffe as you go with little as 5$. Just a hot kettle with hot water but does it's job. On Ethiopian Airlines you'r most likely to face a few delays we faced a few good hours trying to head to dar esalam so if your transitting like we did make sure you have a plan B were still trying to figure out ours. Maybe think about a lay over there to explore the capital and book the next days ferry? Ferrys at dar salam move few times a day to zanzibar. We wanted to try both experience and i must say the charter was one of the best experiences i've hadand it's highly recommended. Just head down to termial 1 and you and your crew can enjoy a one hell of a ride for only 75$. Stay tuned for more details of our trip
